It's not bad just you need a better breakdown, cause the way you sampled it, it leaves me waitng for the beat to drop, and it never did. Plus, you need to add a drum pattern or two, and some instruments,bass etc, but not a bad job for real.

That helped. But if you do what was done in the video, you'd be taking out the actual sample too. I have a old record and recorded it to my computer. I dont want to take out the acapella.
There's is not harm in sampling the record twice to get what you need or use filters in order to get/remove what you want/don't want, or tweaking drums/sounds to match the samples that are not from the samples altogether .
