whats your procedural method for sampling and beat making?

u hear a sample, chop it an play the drums.. but what next? do u search for a bassguitar sample that fits? or do u chop the sample again and again and make a chorus with the same sample? or u use other samples for the chorus?

the other question is: do u got a special structure in your sampled(!) songs?

for example: u got 1 sampled melodie (pad, etc), and u play it for the intro without drums, than -for the verse- with drums , and the only difference of chorus and the verse, is business of the mc!?

did i understand it right, that u use one melody (or pad) sample and chop it once for the verse and second for the chorus (and one for the pre-chorus or somethin)?

thanks for your comment!

usually i find a part of the sample that ill use for the verse, chop it up, throw my drums on that, then repeat for a chorus, then throw any breakdowns in there, then i add my basslines last, but sometimes i change it up depending on the sample

and i most always play my intro w/o drums, and i always try to get a different melody for my verses and chorus's cause i feel like im being lazy if i dont

It depends on how the sample sounds, for me... if it's a sample that can be looped, then I definitely have to find another sample for the chorus, similar, but switched up, or I could always sample a piece of the sample for the chorus... if it's chops, I always make sure that I switch it up... if not in the verse, as the song moves, then in the chorus, and If I'm comfortable with repeating a sample over and over again, I have to switch the drum patterns up, so that it sound lively, as opposed to just repetitive and bland... it really depends on what you want to hear, and what will keep you interested in the beat, and little changes like those make a big difference...

I have no set ways of working. I try and use a different structure for every song I do, and I try and get as many switch ups out of the sample as possible (as long as they are of good quality of course) if I can't switch it up I'll just go maaad with the drums.

@ThUgLoRd: when u say, that u use the same sample for the verse and chorus, but u use a different melody, does it mean, that u make a other melody from of the sample, or do u use synth or keys for that new melody?

I think he means a different meledoy of the sample.

My basic format 4-5 sequences (chopped or looped)
1st sequence for the intro
2nd for the verse
3rd for verse changeup
4th chours
5th Bridge (if applicable)

seeing I chop my sounds up, that second sequence and chours sequence may get rechopped differently a few times during the verse/chours

Also I do my sample first then do my drums.
