i just got myself a turntable and mixer and im ready to start digging for records to sample
My question is , how do you guys choose a recorD? what criteria do you guys use?
I mean, Im just confused because I dont know how I would choose a record without even hearing it.

people pick on a lot of thing

covers
years
genre
price
instruments played
who sung it
who produce it



the best thing to do is listen and learn about the artist
labels,producers and you might find a year you like

also don't limit your self to a few genres just listen for good music.


another thing you can do is get a portable turntable
to hear records before you buy like Numark PT-01 or
Vestax Handy Trax

keep in mind you dig for you not us

most record shops have turntables setup so you can listen to records. I have the PT-01 and my headphones though. So I just put a record on and check it out.
