I've just started messing around with Sony Acid and am trying to figure things out. What I want to do is take a part of a song and loop it. I know I need to calculate the BPM. What is the best way to do this? Should I load the entire song into Acid and run the Beatmapper and than chop out the part I want? Or should I chop out the part first than run the beatmapper?

I know this is a very newb question but I am having a difficult time getting it right.

Thanks.

Alright, here's what I would do.

Load the sample into acid. The whole thing. Beatmap it.
When it asks you for the first down beat, go and find the part you want to loop. Make sure that part is tempo matched. Then when you draw(use the draw tool), and you draw out the measures, the 1st measure will be the part you beatmapped and want to sample.

Hope that helps.
