Is trance the most spun genre? I've been going through tracklistings.org, which is tracklistings for almost every Essential Mix on Radio1. I think just about every Essential Mix is trance. Or am I wrong?

I really like trance, which is what I mostly spin. But I also like some hard house stuff. I have some, but I have trouble finding good hard house stuff. Does anybody know of any DJs (preferably with albums or essential mixes that I could get and hear) that mix trance/hard trance/hard house in their sets?

How many of you go by label? Do you feel its necessary? I just go by if I hear a song that I like, I look for it on vinyl. The only label I've found (even though I've only been spinning for 3 months.) that I really like is Nukleuz.

I'm rambling on now, heh. Anybody have any opinions on any of this?

In the so called "club scene", trance & house are the most "spun" genres.

Why's that? Because those 2 genres are too commericialized,
everyone knows trance, so everyone's wanna spin it to be
"cool".

Now there are also a lot of those so called "party dj's" who
mainly spin 80's and 70's disco, at least here, this ****e
can attract lotsa people...

THE upcoming genre is most probably UK Garage, it blends
drum and bass (actually garage is just a dnb clone for wussies)
and soul with rnb. Lotsa "wannabe" pimps wanna get into
garage/2step because of the money, or the girls.

Now what's left, what's left I ask you?
If you're talking of Radio1 BBC, there's a show with
FABIO & GROOVERIDER. Listen to it, is this trance or house?
IS IT? No, it's pure drum and bass. And it rocks.

The future is hard House...that's going to be the next "in thing" ....... Around where I am hardly no one ever spins trance....it's a shame....our community thinks that if more then 5 people know about the song it's "too commercial" that's total BS...but what can you do. I guess that's what you get for living around one of the biggest underground music scene's in North America, Toronto.... I mean who else gets Oakie, Tiesto, Mauro Piccoto and Timo Mass all in about a two month span....hehe...I love what we have up here And those are just the International big name acts

I hate that ****. When people don't listen to a song/music that is "too commercial" or "mainstream." If you like a song, listen to it. Who gives a **** if its popular?

Verbal, Fergie spun on the Essential mix last week. He plays hard house and you should check some of his stuff out.

In the SF Bay Area Trance is like the Yeti.....it doesn't really exist. Its 90% house (various flavors), 5% D&B/Jungle, 2.5% Trance, 2.5% Everything else.

This is fine by me because I personally dislike Trance. I prefer my music with soul and groove.

mmm...it does go well with the chicken!

I think just about all music has soul and groove. Just different type which affect different people.

I can't help but LOVE trance, I'm sorry! I looked into all the other styles but I really can't get into any of them. I like a lil bit of everything, but not nearly as much.

About a year ago, every DJ here in the Seattle area seemed to be spinning trance and it became really passe'... but now it is all DNB! So, I guess I lucked out. Tho, I think that if yer creative enough you can mix it up some. I like to spin some of the newer trancy-breaks (see Hybrid) stuff along with different styles of deep house/trance and progressive house/trance. *Shrugs*

I am glad to hear that the S.F. scene is lacking some trance! HERE I COME!!!
