For it is Steinberg's Wavelab for it's reliable features such as Audio Montage and it's Wave Restore plug-in. How about you? Plus this will be good for newbies!

Cool Edit Pro 2.1. i love some of the filters and click and pop remover. another plus is Hiss remover as well. but i think starting to die on me lol. so i may need to up grade to something else.

In OS X it's Audiofile Engineering's Wave Editor hands down.

Their sample rate conveter blows everything else away, and it's shocking how bad a job even the big names (like Logic and Final Cut) do when it comes to SRC.
