man i gotta say it was pretty dope . i was was in the studio with a singer who i was workin with and i noticed there were two guitarists and a bassist in the room (i play piano a bit). so i record guitar chords added drums and then got the bass player to play sumythin funky over it. I can definately see the advantages to using samples. Note that i was still the producer. LOL

does anyone else have experience with live instrumentaion?

I'm doing a music technology a-level. As part of it I have to record an 8-16 track song... the one I'm doings not hip-hop though so this may not be as relevant.

As far as the advantages over sampling I can definately see what you mean, although only if the musicians are capable and understand where you're trynna go with it... I've found some guitar players to be a bit arrogant and just do their own thing in the past.

But yeah, I would absolutely love to just have a bunch of dope musicians at my disposal to make a bunch of songs. In conjunction with sampling it would be fantastic.

Yeah man, I produced the song on my personal myspace page, made it all on my motif like 4 years ago but the artist bought it recently so we went in the studio and overdubbed two guitar parts and the bassline and yes...I was the producer too :0). Check it out and let me know what you think
PS: My myspace music page is also the first one in my friends list. Peace:
