Sup,

What software/methods do you guys use other than MPC's to sample?

I have tried slicing with software such as soundforge, then loading them back into FL.

And even used Acid Pro.

What do the rest of you all do?

i think these types of questions are asked a lil' too much. It's probably not your fault, but you should try using the search feature. Just type something like "How Do You Sample" and find some threads started by ppl asking the same question as you. And you'll also find ppl that answer and gave advice.

I use Audacity to chop samples. It's a free program and it's very easy to use.

Sorry bout that bro, I have some bad luck with search features on forums and can never find what I'm looking for.

I'll go give it another try though

I've used Audacity.

Now I use Sound Forge

Any certain tips or techniques, or any good links that could explain this? I'm new to sampling and I can't flip a track. I can only cut out 2,4, or 8 bar loops and place em on my beat.

I really want to flip a track and show some skill

i use soundforge as well. what i do, i sample loops/and or portions of songs in soundforge and then import them into acid. i'll either keep them like that or i'll chop them up in acid using the chopper function. you should try it. i'm actually going to be making a tutorial video soon so i'll keep yall posted on that.

Thanks I'll try that!

Does anyone actually take little snippets/chops from songs, then comebine them together to form a 2,4,8 bar loop before exporting them?

Keep me posted on your tutorial.

If you use FL then you can use the FL Slicer function to chop samples

the FL slicer really stinks in my opinion/ past experience. It never gets it to the way I exactly want it.
