Let's say I have a sample of a single bass note from a record loaded into my mpc. Now I am going to play up/down the keys on my midi keystation and try to create a bassline. I understand that the midi keys send different note values to the mpc and essentially it tells the mpc to play the sample at a certain pitch. I don't think the mpc has the ability to detect which note your sample was played in so...

My question: If the original sample's note value can't be determined, then how can the sample be played across the keys and given a true note value (c,d,e,f,g,a,b)?? I'm very confused on this subject. Can anyone provide detailed info on how the midi keyboard note values given to the sample on the mpc interact with each other?

Hahahaha!!!! Man How Perfect Life Should "be",sorry To Burst Your Bubble But That Is Not Possible On The M.p.c,the Only Option I Can Give You Is Take The Time And Create The Actual Notes You Want To Play On Your Keys And Assign Them On The Pads, yeah Yeah It Would Be Easier If You Could Use Note Variation And Have All The Notes On Your Keystation, the Only Machine Out That Supports This Function Is Rolands Mv-8000 And 8000,personally I Like Playing The Bass On The Pads But To Each His Own.
