alright i got a question for all you producers out there..... how do you choose what sounds to put in a certian place,, you see if im sampling something i will throw down what i want with some drums and percussion usually but then i am stuck thinking how can i give this more personality becuase its a tad bit plain?? i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions anything would be appreciated thankz

the best thing to do is just experiment... sometimes what I do is throw some sound effects in the background so it's barely noticeable.

If you can notice something is missing, most likely you know what it is. ...The thing is that you just haven't found it yet.

The best thing to do i think would be to listen to the track with all your concentration..."go deep"...close your eyes if you have to. And listen to it until your ears start to hear the missing element. I say this b/c there have been tracks where i can hear exactly what element i need to add in order to enhance the sound. If that does not work try experimenting with sounds. Also listen to the entire sample for some suggestions on additional sounds to add to your track....and then try to find that sound and manipulate it the way you want to. Try stuff out there are many routes that you can take in order to find the missing element.
