yes, Reason is a very good investment I must say. TUTORIALS are coming in! Lots of them.
About memory. I recommend to get 256MB. And Windows98/ME DOES use memory quite well. The limit of usefulness is not 128 but... 512MB!
In fact I have 512MB of RAM in my system, and what I get from that is: I never hear my hard drive "swap" (when I render 3D, record a lot of Audio, load a lot of programs together, have a big project in Macromedia Flash 5...).
I admit 512MB is a bit too much, but you can comfortably jump to 256MB, it's useful.
Win2000 is supposed to manage memory even better, without limit really, but the same rules apply really... And be careful... 2000/NT is not a dream for audio at all.
