Well generally speaking a bar is four beats, so 16 bars is 64 beats.

But this is for a simple 4/4 time signature, things get a little more complictaed when you start talking about different time signatures and shyt. Read up on your theory and take up some kind of musical instrument to deepen your understanding of music. I suggesst piano as it will probably be most appropriate if your doing hip hop (which i only assume you do because of your lack of knowledge).

Yup. You not gonna be doing music over night...... Me for instance... Music was mandatory in elementary school. That's where I got my first exposure to music. I stated singing in my church choir when I was about 8 years old..... I didn't get into playing in a school band until I was in 7th grade and I did that for three years playing the tuba... In that time I learned fully how to read sheet music. I also(moreso now)read music theory materials to learn new stuff everyday(or the stuff I never caught in band.... You know with the homies and honeys in band).

All that musical experience before I got my equipment....... You gotta learn the craft homie..........

Yeh i know, that was kinda the point. I was trying to make him see that knowledge (even if just basic) of theory is fundemental when pursueing a career as a producer. He's gotta read up himself.
