Honestly that was horrible, it didn't even have a solid tempo you just hit drums

if that is ur first beat ever it's ok but just keep practicing. listen to more beats on big albums and replicate that more to get better.

Whats probably messing u up is the fact that the sample is in 3/4, Trying starting off with samples that are in 4/4, cause it will be easier if u are inexperienced.

spyda the drums need rythum, like a "boom" "bap" "boom" "boom" "bap". your drums where all over the place but thats aight its part of learning.
and your samples need to be chopped better. I would say go research RZA, Pete Rock, 9th wonder, Heat Makerz n Jus Blaze also Kanye, also go to youtube and type in kev brown on the MPC as a matter of fact here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHOXXsu4ehc listen and watch wat he does you dont have to have a mpc to create this sound. jus watch, listen, and learn. listen to how his samples are chopped.....

u didnt make that one up, i saw dat on da bee ee tee dis mo'nin

if that is your first beat ever then you should start out composing and then go to sampling. that way you have a better idea of whats going on (drums-melody) instead of random sounds. i guess.
