Well i'm gonna give you the obvious answer....classical. But just shop round all different kinds off genres like jazz, country, folk, blues, gospel, funk, soul, rock etc.

You can find hot samples in any genre if you look hard enough or have a creative enough mind. I know i have sampled from all of the genre's listed above and many more.

thanks for the replies. I sampled an opera song, the finished beat is on my soundclick page and I think it sounds pretty hot. It's my first time making a beat from a sample.

That beat def has potential man, if you cut the intro out. It just sounded a bit messy, i think you got too much in there. I liked the stabs, sounded pretty solid. Maybe a bit of EQ on them. But it was so messy i cant even tell you what to take out cuz i couldnt tell anything apart, it was just like a big jumble.

Mess around with it though cuz it mos def got potential! Not bad for first sampled beat. Keep at it!
