yo this might be a ridiculous question i was wonderin if anyone else has ever tried recreating this beat.

the original sample in question being 'After All' by the Marvelettes...

the pitch seems unaltered..though he may have time stretched it just a bit..

but there seems to be another voice an octave higher(and time stretched)..because i can find it nowhere in the original. is it possible he's just layered the same parts with 2 different pitches??

anyways i'm just a noob trying to pick up a few tricks from the masters..

appreciate it yall

not everyone knows this, but kanye, just, and other big name cats sometimes have engineers (one in particular) recreate the music they want to sample for a variety of reasons. this cat that does it for them gets paid BIG BUCKS, and does an immaculate job of recreating the songs they sample from SCRATCH!!! they don't do this with everything they sample just some of them they may not get clearance for, or maybe they need a certain part they can't get alone without vocals or other instruments on it.

"I got big cuntree, he'll fight a mudda fuca/ size 13... nike a mudda fuca!" -big cuntree, freestyling as if he were me...lol. and u gotta pronounce nike with the IKE sound to say it right.

i agree w/ people that alot of people (such as Kayne, Just Blaze and others) have a small team of people who specialize in recreating parts and even making it sound like the original sample and in one of the recent scratch mags (the one w/ Saigon/Just Blaze) they had an interview with one of the guys in Just's team. The Champ, for example was a recreated version of some other song that i believe he couldn't clear but there are other reasons for recreating such as extra instruments.
