when you guys are chopping up drums from a song in say a program like cool edit or sound forge, do you pitch the drums in that program to make them easier to chop up, or do you not mess with the pitch until you put it in the sampler?

I chop using peak. Upload to either NNXT or Redrum on Reason, and only then do i mess with the pitch. I think messing with the pitch before hand will make it more difficult.

I prefer to make tweaks while in the sampler.

If i'm chopping up some drums, I'll usually just leave them the way they are and tweak em later. I dont think changing the pitch of the drums will make it easier to chop ne'ways.
