Say what...

no joke, i would really appreciate it if someone would direct me to a noobs guide to sampling.

I own a computer, and fruity loops 6.08 XXL, and i don't have access to crates or anything (i have my way of getting old music, don't worry).

I was wonder, what's the best way to sample, and how?

Also, can someone redirect me to a tutorial, that goes through the copyrighting issue's as well. Thank you.

Ironically, it's the copyright issue that has kept the secrets of sampling underwraps for so long. Don't expect people to 'give you' answers on this stuff...it's in their interest to keep it a secret.

I wrote this song a long TIME ago...(back in '93 or '94)

like the man said use cool edit, or acid, soundforge. Use mp3s or CDs and create a loop of a part of a song you want using the above programs.

Phene makes a video that explains sampling using fruity loops and acid.

Ok buddy...
All you need is audacity. Download it, it's a free wav editer. an whenever you save something save it as a wav folder in a location that you have hooked up to FL thru file setting's so you can use the sound's... Over time upgrade to Adobe Audition, it's 10 times better, an is what I use. I think it's the same for Audacity, but for Adobe all I do is drag from my itunes playlist into the Adobe edit window to start diggin'. Start going to the library, an good will an stuff an getting abstract CD's you normally wouldnt listen to, an search them for samples, by ripping them to your computer, than diggin in them. Over time you will gain a good ear what a good sample is, an you will be able to spot records that will have better ones...
Vynl isnt the only way into sampling, in fact I think the way I just listed is best.
