I'm not sure where you are having trouble with that song. Are you sampling the strings in the intro? Otherwise, listen to that bass line - the same pattern repeats throughout the verses. That bass line is 4 beats long. Just listen to how it interpolates with the hats and you will be able to count the 2 and the 4.....

Once you know where the 2 and the 4 are, you will be able to time out one bar and then do the calculation to bpm.

... chop a loop out of the bass line... or w/e

I suck at 'counting' bpms... so I just throw in the the MPC (FL can do it also)... set it to how ever many bars it is, and play w/ the tempo until it loops...

And if all else fails... I believe it was Blaze that did it...I could be wrong...but that track was sampled on Beanie Sigel's "The Reason"... not gettin much better than that...

IJust so you know, you have picked a challenging piece to sample. JB's starts singing over the last half bar of the string intro. He doesn't find the 1 until half-way through the first "man's"......

You are trying to sample roughly 5.5 bars.........This means you are sampling over a 22 count. When you have the 22 beats sampled take the time (Let's say it is 12 seconds). To figure out the bpm, use this formula....

22/12=x/60
(22*60)/12=x
1320/12=110 beats per minute

This tempo is not correct for the song in question, but you get the idea. It will get you fairly close and then tweak from there until it sounds right. I know that you just want me to tell you the tempo and to be honest, I am tempted, but then you wouldn't learn anything. If you are really into production, there are certain things you are going to have to teach yourself. I apologize if this makes me seem like a piece of **** elitist, but in a few years you will be glad that you took the time to really understand this stuff.

Also take a moment think about the above equation. If there are 22 beats over 12 seconds, how many beats are there over 60 seconds?

I'll give you one more hint - don't expect an even tempo. And here is one more hint - if this exercise is causing you problems, invest in Ableton Live. It has a great utility for finding/changing tempos.....
