first of, in rebirth, bring the tempo to 90BPM or so.

then turn down this resonance ot minimum, and cutoff to middle or quarter.

the 808 is a classic drumbox, it works to compose hiphop drumbeats no problem. The TB303 though, wasnt really good for this kind of music, but its a bassline, it can do what you want if you practice


You should look into REASON. it has a sampler in there, and the drumbox is totally customizable.

It's all depending on your skills and experience.. I mean an instrument is an instrument, you cna do anything with anything really. Only some do have more "gadgets" but really everything comes to the fact that it's all up to you.
