I've sampled sounds from my TV by connecting the audio out from my TV into my sampler, and then I just recorded the incoming signal. You can sample anything you can record, and more obviously, anything that has already been recorded, like a record.

If it is a show that has a dvd collection you can sample the dvd by connecting the audio plug from ur dvd player to ur sampler or cpu.
If it is not then just connect sampler or cpu to tv.
It's pretty easy.

Think tivo...with nuts...
(more importantly - for this forum - you could easily rip the audio directly from the recorded files or straight from live tv. Read: Sample audio from an HDTV stream/broadcast)

If you want to sample from a TV you can put the RCA outs into a sound mixer or directly into your sampler, or from the headphone jacks on the TV, but another thing I do to get a different sound is to hook a cable from my headphone jacks on the TV to a guitar amp, turn up the overdrive, maybe run it through a compressor with extreme settings, Mic the amp, and sample the sound that way.
