I copped the Ion portable turntable a bit ago and I've gotta say its made digging a lot more involved (and fun). I'm spending a lot more time in the more unique genres of music, previewing new types of sounds. Anyone else roll with one?
Btw the Ion turntable is a damn solid piece of equipment if anyone was curious. Couldn't beat it for 70 bucks.
I have a Numark PT 01, I don't use it to dig. I just use it at home. I usually go in the record shop and look at a records and know what sounds it probably has by the genre. I should use the PT 01 to dig, but naw, I rather rely on my musical instincts of knowing what genre of music possess what instruments.
I still do the cover/credit method with most of the more straightforward genres, but when I'm trying something new, I like to preview it. For example, when I got a Norweigan opera, I used it and ended up loving the record
damn... speakin of diggin i went to the local record store today... i was in ****in heaven man. i found the instrumental double lp from liquid swords, the single from cream and a buncha other crazy **** (mostly orchestral) but today was a day i wish i had bought that numark
