i got the mpc 1000 and sample off this cheap numark table. and when i find myself a nice soulful sample or something nice and then chop it up then record it, its always off beat. even when i set the tempo so it blends in.

so basically the bpm is set and even when i press record and hit the pads it always comes out off beat after recording 4 bars

can anybody help me out?

What is your time correction set to? Just check with that and see if that makes a differences. I usually leave mines on 1/16 when recording the sample loop and change it afterwards for drums.

^ or you might just have bad timing. its all about being able to use the note tap button effectively, if you get that tempo right it should work. unless you have terrible natural rhythm

Do you retrigger the sample or loop it?
