Hello to eveyone...I have a newbie Question that I could not find answers for in the search function. I just got a new Stanton T50X Turntable and am trying to record some samples. I hooked the Turntable into my mixer (Alesis Multimix 8 USB) via RCA jacks then out from the Mixer into my PC. The problem is the Volume is super low. While I'm recording there are no peaks on the recording track (If you know what I mean). I am going out from my Mixer into my PC. I just have whatever my HP CPU came with, I dont think its an actual sound card???? Is this the problem? PLEASE HELP!!!!
Also what is a good choice for an internal soundcard as I think I should upgrade even if I don't need one?
Is it plugged into the mic or line in input? Find out which one, and make sure the volume on that is turned up sufficiently. For real, you really dont even need to hook the turntables up to the mixer. I hook my record player straight into the line in jack with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and it sounded just fine.
the alesis usb isn't just a mixer, its a audio interface. your problem is you dont have a preamp. get a preamp. and connect your turnable to your preamp, and preamp to the mixer rca. then via usb, you can record it into whatever program
