i am just getting into smapling since i got my mpc 2000.I saw this video on here about sampling digging and they mentioned groves and sounds is a grove like 10 seconds say of a record just lopped and a sounds some one cutting up dat 10 seconds and makin some thing new out of it.? thnkz

not sure what they meant by it.
but those would be the two main sampling techniques: looping whole bars of a track, and taking individual hits or sounds.

Are you asking what a groove is?

A groove in my opinion- is a part in the record that presents a certain feel/vibe. Finding a nice groove is usually what starts the beat making process for me. A groove can be a simple 4 second funk loop or a 1 second string hit...
