I know this is a played topic, but I did a search and wasn't really able to find an answer to my question.

The needles I have right now (Stanton 500-II) are the ones I got with my tables over a year ago, and they're on their last legs. They weren't really that good to begin with.

I make beats, but I also like to work on my scratching. The problem is, it seems like most needles are suited for either playback or scratching. I mean, I'd love to pick up some Shure M44's because they seem to be the consensus 'best' for scratching, but I also hear they boost the low end when it comes to playback.

I'll get to the point... what are some quality needles I can pick up that will suit both my sampling AND scratching needs?

Thanks... Peace!!
