i sample something like a kick and i want it to fade out like its real, but if i get it from a record where theres a snare right after the kick i have to cut the kick before the snare... so then the sound cuts off so i make it fade out...

=

a kick that fades way too soon

is there a way to stretch the end of the sample or some thing else to fix this?

by the way... i use audacity

add a bit of silence to the end then fade it, so its more gradual

just go to generate then silence, dont record it. sorry i should've said that.

One more thing...you should check out WavePad http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....vepad&tg=dl-20 its free and its easier and quicker to make precise chops. wont take up much space on ur system either. Audacity is still good to have though for the effects and timestretching.

i figured out something...

select the end of the sample and copy it after the sample and do that about once or twice then add silence and make them all fade out together.

thanks for the ideas.
