What's the industry standard drum for use with breaks/house breaks?

I've been through the Battery kits and found them a bit lame - best thing I've found is the Yamaha RY30 which is great for snares.

Any other ideas?

For House I would probably go with 808, or 909s. Or you could type "house drum kits" or something like that in Google.

*Also, this is probably the wrong forum.

I sampled Supertramp and all I got was my publishing jacked up.

For breaks I chop the sample and use the same drums to layer the originals. IMHO it gives the beat a authentic sound.

Just chop some breaks up. Maybe layer some 808s and 909 subs over your kicks. If layering adds too much punch, just adjust the attack on the sub so that it does'nt come in so strong.
