i currently use FL4,soundforge 6.0, reason adapted and lets say i have a turntable hooked up to my audio interface. now my question is how do i go about taking a sample or a breakbeat from a vinyl record chop it up and import it to FL4?.. can somebody basically explain to me what the signal flow of it is?

turntable via either amplified dj mixer or phono pre-amp into the pc's soundcard is the signal flow..


use soundforge to record the tt's output onto the pc as wav and work from there

^^^yeah, that's about it.^^^

If you've never chopped up a sample before. Think of it as a graphic image that you're cropping in photoshop. Say There's a picture of the 3 people, and you want to delete the people on the left and right. Chopping would kind of be like cropping. Just highlight the part you need and chop. Zoom in to get the fine details of exactly where you need it so it's perfect. Hope that helps.
