One Shot Is Exactly As It Sounds. Its A One Hit. Like An Orchestra Hit.

ok here are some of the must know terms....

a sample is a segment of music that is recorded (or isolated) with the intention of using it in full or part outside of its original context.

one shot sample- a sample that is only one isolated sound ie a drum or tonal sound

a loop can mean one of 2 things: a phrase of music that can be repeated and retriggered OR a segment in a one shot sample that is repeated to make the sound last longer than it does.

a breakbeat typically referrs to a section of a song where there is just a drum playing, typically in the pattern that it is for the full song. usually implied when people say break is a section that is loopable.

drum solos are slightly different, as although they are sections of isolated drums, they tend to be much faster.

finally drum fills are sections of isolated drums that typically arent loopable, but can be cut up for individual drum hits.

drum solos and breaks are most often used for drum hits and small segments, and are not looped.

...any more questions? dont hesitate to ask.

dude broke em down pretty well i think. but a drum solo and a break beat are kinda the same thing. there are differences but dont confuse ur self with them. a drum fill is like a drum change up not so much used in hip hop tho it does happen but even more so used in live music. rock uses them alot so does pop music
