i'm kind of interested in the little cure i've heard, and am wondering if they have an essential album for a first time listener.

peace

peace

listen to me on georgetown student radio. every monday, 8-10 pm (eastern) sometimes i'll spin if the equipment's working, otherwise it's some laid back grooves and good indie rock. check it out!

Personally, I can't stand the Cure. But anything prior to 1991 is better.

Sorry we can't let you in.
But I'm in Weezer.

That song was big here like a year ago when the CD came out.

Hehe I'm just listening to one of their record now "The head on the door".

I'd recommend the "Disintegration" album and also the "Cure show" a dual live cd really really good.

I'm just not a fan of music that's sad and melancholy and folky sounding. If you are writing a sad song, it should be with lots of distortion or with little instrumentation. Or don't show emotion at all.

Well for me music is emotion and I tend to prefer melancholic music.... there are usually nicer melodies and orchestrations in it than in pop-happy music.

What makes a track nice and original it's the melody and the orchestration. That's why when you protect your music it's the melody and the orchestration that makes the originality of a track, not the rhythm.

Well it's just my opinion.

All that extra sh*t makes a track sound cheesey for pop music. In the case of the cure though, I think its just time for them to fade away gracefully.

We surely have differents opinions on what is music !

No problemo everyone got his points of view.

I listen to both electronica and rock, and I'm always searching for good compositions and melodies, like radiohead, cure, orbital, leftfield, plaid, etc.

It's become quickly boring when you've discovered all the content of a track after listening to it only two times.
