As far as making tracks according to Flareward he feels my tracks are dark/scarey.I tend to use alot of deep basslines as the foundation to my music.I guess I do draw on a lot of painful experiences at times. As far as writing lyrics,I carry a small notebook in my pocket and even if a partial phrase come to mind I write it down.some times I write a page of loose words and incomplete thoughts and pick from them to compose a verse.I also usually write to a track inside my head to get the flow down.As of late I`ve been in a combative mood lyrically so I`m in "battle" mode right now,But I`m a well rounded lyricist who can right about virtually anything I have knowledge of.Peace

I think it all depends on mood. When you break up with a gf, its easier to write songs about heartache. When you are in love, its easy to write songs that are cheesey and happy. When you are p*ssed, its easy to write songs that are about revolution. If you are stoned, its easy to write songs that don't make sense. It really helps to have good, natural ability though, and know how to tell a good story otherwise.
Sorry we can't let you in.
But I'm in Weezer.

for me i just write what i'm feeling. it depends on if the sun is out or not, if its raining or not. it depdnds on if i'm happy or sad or mad. that's actually how i got my name, arkangel. the "326" is the date i started going with my girlfreind. arkangels are fighting angels. i can write about pretty much anything holla backl

In the sense of writing songs, I found that my lyrics were pretty forced and took time to develop until I just started doing brain dumps. Something that is internalized might make you frustrated, but if you don't have a good method of expressing it, you'll be S.O.L.
I also believe that a good command of whatever end language you're writing for is paramount. Sting is a good example of this. The quality is in the odd plays on words and double entendres (spell check that?) he uses.
I've also found it's easier to write out lyrics for something, and THEN try to figure our what it's about, and then alter lyrics that need to be changed to make the piece stronger.
Good luck.
thanks for the tips
