Hi fellows,
I''ve got to admit one thing, i got a really bad toung, and a bad vocabulary, not o bad. i like to rap, but as i try my toung slips or i for get the words. i've downoaded some raps of from lyrics.com, but i cannot get the apropriateand the right tone. please help me out. i think this new forum will help me out here. 
i have a little peom, got it from the net.

You only have to rap half as fast and you get a cool top 40 gangsta rap style to it. Of couse you will need another person to provide the "Whats and or Words" and maybe a DJ for the ill scratchin'.

you wanna b a good rapper?. . .then just right everything dwon on paper ..and dont write stuff thats made up, keep it real to you .. . EG:-
your moma starves you for a week! lol..then rap about that .. . you get wat im saying..?
OR....
you get kicked out onto the streets .. .rap bout that ..get it.?
you shouldnt rap other ppls lyrics . .thats just lame ..
you should just write loads and practice .. . write some verses ..then recite them off the page ..just practice ,thats the key ..(for me anyway)

and DON, i'am really impresed by ur'e style of learning, u mean that i write down, everything that comes in my mind. and just rap bout it.
hey all, tell me one more thing , to increase the reading speed what should i do., i think that i might try reading novels as fast as i can. that way i think i can improve my vocabulary, prnunciation, and etc. tell em more basic thing bout it.

practice freestying.. it will teach you how to rap better and make up lyrics easily

if you freetstyle you will end up saying a lot of garbage unless you are very talented or the beats are slow (so you think the next line)
like Thadon says write it down and think of things from a peronal nature..link them to things that you see around you news/films/sports etc etc...
going back to that poem

But you should also try to learn as much new vocabulary as you can.Read reference books(Dictionary,Thesaurus,etc.)Know what words you`re using when you choose to be non-conventional.A bunch a so-called big words does`nt constitute a dope rhyme if you can`t define them and use them in their proper context.Watch different shows on TV especially dealing with nature and science.You have an advantage over most other rappers `cause they tend to stay in one realm.Find more than one way to express a single thought.Also embelish,color it in,add detail to what you are rapping about.Good luck.one

reading books and novels will help you. You will get a larger vocabulary and will be able to think of different references and plays on words. But that won't really help your tongue getting mixed up. Try reading out loud or even rapping along to some of your favorite songs. Try to get every word in.

I would have to disagrre on reading dictionarys and stuff (vocabluary) ,, coz if you start rhyming using huge wrds, then the peepz listening to your music probably wont know wtf our talking about .. yeah use some nice big wrds now and again .. .but not all the time. . . try to keep it simple, but not to simple .. . and remember . . .BE REAL>>!

Vocabulary is the whole basis of rap.That`s what seperated Young MC from Big Daddy Kane.As far as peeps understanding you,peeps should have a basic education.Don`t lower yourself to please everyone else.If you are intelligent,it should show in your verses.If you are more of a simple guy,then kick your stuff simple.Just don`t limit yourself.If peeps are gonna feel you, they will feel you regardless.I agree with the cat when he said"be real".Don`t rap about being a thug when you know you can`t even go out without a curfew.Don`t talk about being a pimp,player,hustler,or don when you know you live with your momma.Keep it real,not real stupid.peace
