I hear you! I've had so called industry standard Pro Tools for years until my mbox stop working and started working the moment I ordered The Tascam US-122L which comes with Cubase.
The routing and the stock FX just blew me away. I'm hooked.
I love VSTs now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on RECORD! J/k I could careless about Record.

Lol, a year ago I would have defended record because I was strictly a Reason head and I was just getting familiar with cubase... now, I can also care less about Record... I love VSTs as well.

Record needs no defending. It's for ppl who like. I personally need a full DAW for vocals...not a bunch of work arounds.
VSTs is dope ass hell tho.

Mutiband compressor (combinator)
High pass filter its already on the record mixer
and frequencer analyzer can be achieved with vocoder

wHAT'S UP terror.
Have you went to Props and read up on Record and what it offers? Record offers a lot.
Only thing it don't off is VST's, MP3 exporting and midi.
VST's shouldn't be an issue. You can do your track in Record then rewire it to your host and use your VST'S forever. Midi is the only righteous gripe. Protools don't support VST's but I hear no one complaining about that. smh

i like reason. i should be getting record soon too.
i was just pointing out that things like a frequency anaysler, multiband compressor, etc.. are in reason BUT they have to be achieved using workarounds, or creative thinking. i don't mind that at all. in fact i love it.
