Yeah, you need to convert them to .wav - then just load into NN-XT/NN-19/ReDrum. There's a myriad of audio converters available, just google "mp3 to wav" or something like that. NCH's Switch is nice and free and does a bunch of formats (notice that there's also Switch Plus which isn't free...).

the best way to use a sample in reason is do what krushing said, then w/e you can purchase recycle and after you've converted sample to wav pull sample up in recycle and chop some more in there if you like then save as rex file, then you can pull it up in dr.rex..nnxt also recognizes rex files

is there any way to view, within reason, the continuous line of the audio frequency? (My buddy recorded a long guitar part and I am trying to match up drums and other instruments in reason to it and it would be a lot easier if I could visually see the peaks of his guitar part)

You might want to get RECORD to go with REASON...you could do it then..or get ableton live or cubase or something and use rewire...

Thanks, but where I'm at now, that doesn't help me unless it is within Reason I can do this (so I can line up instruments which I have not sampled with the one which I have recorded manually, within reason..)

You can download the free demo of FL Studio or many other freeware loop editors. Chop your loop, timestrech and pitch it to the tempo and scale you want, then export the loop as a wav or aif to load right into the NNXT, NN19, or Redrum. You can even mess with the start time and cutoff of the samples once they're loaded.

All the sampled tracks on my soundclick were done in Reason using that technique.

Two things that annoy me are people who are positive out of ignorance, and people who are negative out of bitterness. People who are neither usually get along with me and agree with most of what I say. People who are one of the 2 think I'm the other.
