I was thinking the Alesis mkll or the M-Audio bx5's. What do you guys think?

here are the links

alesis http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/M1ActiveMkII/

m audio http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BX5aDeluxe/

Or if you suggest some better monitors somewhere around the prices of these. Thanks

I like the BX5s for the price but I bought the Rokit 5s over them. Partly because the rokits were on sale tho. I had a bad pair of alesis before that so they left a bad taste in my mouth but ive heard good things about the mk IIs. Either way the best way to select a monitor is to go to the store wtih a cd of your music and buy the one that sounds the worst

Because a bad sounding monitor exposes more holes in your mix

Some of the best mixes I've ever heard from local engineers came out of Alesis M1 active mkII monitors. I've never heard one single good mix come out of M-Audio BX5a's or KRK Rokit 5's. Especially the Rokit 5's. And I know tons of people that have them, all with terrible mixes.

No they are not. You really don't know enough to recommend monitors if you think Rokits' sound good.
