It's not really made for that. I would suggest getting a bigger interface.

It seems that interface has only two inputs , I would suggest you would need at least four channels to record drums ( 1 kick , 1 snare , 2 overheads ) .
For a close miced "rock" sound you will need to mic each of the toms too , so the number of channels rises even further .

Well couldn't I buy a mixer then plug the main out into the interface?

Then you don't get them on separate tracks.

Well think about it. Couldn't i just make a new track for every mic then mute everytrack except for the drum/cymbol im recording on the mixer? Or something like that.

It won't sync up. You need 4 inputs or you need to record a two track mix.

Of course you can record one or two tracks at the time, or simply record everything to two tracks in one go...nothing strange here. I just thought this was about trying to make simultaneous multitrack (more than two, at least) recordings with only two inputs, and that's simply not going to happen.

It would be really difficult for the drummer to get the feeling correct for the performance .
So unless you have friends that are of the Ginger Baker ilk then move along .

If you have not bought this interface yet , then why would you stick with the mini if it doesn' meet your requirments .
Get an interface with more inputs and face the fact that is what you require .

Why are you going for Mbox anyways ? (got pro tools stuck in your mind (with the sh!tty lack of ATC))
