I do hard psytrance if that counts. Though I must admit my sound sculpting skills have just recently reached that level of production. I'm not sure if your familar with psytrance and goa, but the sounds are highly processed, it's like u gotta mangle almost every sound (to find new sounds), but it has to be a controled mangling. I'm not using a computer right now cuz I ain't got 1 yet. All I got is my v-synth and fantom x6. A computer is next on my list for sequencing purposes.

I've been a musican for 11 years now, but have only produced electronic music for 3 of those 11 years.

oh thats pretty interesting,
do you have any sample of your music?
to which artist would you refer to if you would compare in style?

I must admit I haven't arranged anything I really like, just trin to focus on sounds until I get my protools M-Box and computer to sample and arrange. My synths alone can't keep up with my musical style, which has a lot to do with the limitation of global effects. I need to have seperate effects for each (or most) sound(s) in my arrangment, since my taste is extreamly dynamic. This restriction alone creates an enormous amount of frustration for me cuz I busted my a** (moving 3-5 tons of shingles every work day) last year for those synths ($4,000 total value), now I got a broken, and I'm still in the same old creative cage. But musical freedom should be here for me by the end of the month, fore I have a plan which involves a credit card (coming soon), a little light side work, and ebay ;-)

I said I produced for 3 years. The first year I was renting a laptop from Rent-A-Center and using a sequener program that didn't even support vst's. I lost that after I got electricuted when I was working as a coppersmith, and wasn't able to afford the payments. Then I saved up for a EMU XL-7 and used that for a year got frustrated and traded it in part for my Fantom X, which I've had for about a year now, and the V-synth is less than 6 months old.

I would say my style could be compared to some Infected mushroom, Halucinagen, koxbox, Goagil, astrix, Astral Projection, and psilly-X to name a few.

Hard Trance is some pretty good stuff. I have a bunch of records that I DJ'd with for a while before I started trying to produce any.

There's a track on there called "Hide" that is Hard Trance in the vein of something on Nukleuz Green. Kinda techy, i thought it turned out well.

I've been mostly dabbling in the funky breaks stuff when I get the chance now.

good stuff man, i see your more of a hardware head, im more software cuz since i started i never really could afford any hardware until recently. i guess in your situation the best thing would be to get your hand on a small sequencer for now to lay down ideas (drum patterns, melodies) until you can settle down

Good evening,

I am a United Kingdom (UK) Un-signed Trance producer and I have just registered with this community. I enjoy producing Harder Trance which has more of a tech edge than anything else. I use FL Studio as my primary host environemt for composing and producing material. I am limited to using VSTi / VST because of a physical impedement, which disables me from playing physical hardware. Generally, I enjoy using rare synths which are not overly commercialised. I particularly, enjoy mastering music as I find it very rewarding driving for that 'ultimate' sound.

Glad to be on-board with like minded producers.

Chris
