I don't why, but I just find it impossible. Maybe it's because I can't sing at all.
To be honest, I'd much rather be a writer. I've always enjoyed poetry and writing. I just can't for the life of me figure out a melody when I listen to an instrumental.
I don't know why this thread was brought back up but I'm no longer interested in producing. I'm hoping to get into artist management. I'd love to be a songwriter but I can't figure out melody's.
If you have her name, go and google it.
That varies. Some venues actually require you to give them a percentage of your merchandise sold. Some also rely only on bottle service as well.
You were told about a book and dismissed it. So it's obvious you don't believe the people on this site know anything. Go on Amazon and look instead of asking people on here since you don't plan on...
If there is one, then why are you on here asking us what it is? If you knew that there was one, then you'd have it already. There is no book regarded as the best for running a label.
I'm sure. What you found was one book that talked about a certain thing subject of the music business. There is no "leading book" of it's type.

I actually know of this and guy and follow him on twitter. I was fan of his band Making April; they were pretty big when they were active. That being said, I really think labels will begin to...
I’m seriously getting tired of arguing with the idiot (you). I never said I was gonna record anything in a bedroom. I said you COULD get industry sound in a bedroom studio. And the people I spoke...
A real man can admit when he's wrong. Too bad you can't. Good luck to you as well.
I'm not getting offended at all. I'm just stating facts. And no, not every label has a studio. A major label? Probably. An indie label? Hell no they don't have studios. And I know this because I've...
But that's the thing, I wanna be able to work with a bunch of different artists, not just a few. I know that I can start a label with $5,000.
Yea I got the Donald Passman book. I'm about 3/4 done with it. The artist management book is by Paul Allen. I'm gonna buy that next.
I'm trying to launch this company by the beginning of next year...
Yea I really wanted to go the Roc Nation way, where there's a label and management company. So I was thinking maybe put a clause in their contract that states the label will also be their management....
I wasn't sure if something like a pop label could succeed in a state that's really only known for it's country and gospel music
