Removing some high and medium frequencies help to achieve this kind of sound, you want to make it less bright.
The tricky part is to bring that lo-fi feeling without sounding too muffled, so it also depends of the source or sample you use.

Choose the right sounds from your palette; that's sound selection
Use your EQ to straight jam it; that's drum denigration
Add some crunch with distortion, but take it easy
Make the groove sloppy, add delay, too much is cheese-y
Leave some space in your beat, now you've got some old-school heat
Pop-on some lyrics, there you go-- You'll do those en Espanol...

aside from what is stated above, alot of what is going on here is centered and felt around the main melodic part. i dont think the drums are lo-fi so much as much as the main sample is... the drums compliment it though.
theyre adding "vinyl" or "tape" noise into the drums synthetically by way of some sort of plugin. driving it a bit much.

that main melodic part has a drifting pitch oscillator on it that makes the swinging drums sound really dope with it. it sounds like it has some tape or vinyl simulator plugin on it.

I have many lo fi beats just like this. I can send you a folder of them and you can use them in your tracks.

SP-303 or SP-404's Vinyl Sim FX is hella fun for making this, if you're looking to go hardware.
