How do you guys organize your sample database?

I've recently been building up a collection of samples and loops and have found myself struggling with the structure of the whole database. I want the layout to not hinder my productivity.

right now it is looking somewhat like this:
-ELECTRONIC
--loopmasters deephouse1
---WAV Files
--loopmasters minimalhouse1
--vengeance collection
---kicks
---snares
---hats
---FX
-VOCAL
-MELODICAL
--athmospherical piano
-JAZZ
-DNB

I've found that with this layout I can't really remember where the good samples are when I'm returning to producing.

do you guys have a different layout with maybe even a "favorites" folder where you put samples you like/intend to use in future productions?

tl:dr how do you structure your samples database?

I keep things organized in groupings like you do but then I literally write down in a notebook favorite samples and stuff, occasionally even a brief description like "jazzy guitar intro"

I have my sounds organized by the company, than I will create subfolders for the kits like DRUMKITS, Sylenth, Massive, Kontakt, Drumkits With Presets, Construction Kits, Midi Kits and so on. This has really helped my workflow, I also create templates for fl so i have some vsts pre loaded and a few sounds loaded just as a starting point for me.
