Live hi hats? First Post

How is it going? Im new to the forum and i was wondering if anyone could help me with using live hi hats for hip hop in fl studio? I know it has a lot to do with velocity and humanizing it but I'm wondering more of how to layer the samples. I have seen a lot of producers that do this have two or three different hi hats. Can anyone elaborate on this technique?
 
My best advice bro is get a midi controller and "play" your hats live. I explain it in my beat making video I have posted here.
 
if you're layering make sure to EQ specific parts of specific samples; i like to think of the hats as having a pop one the low-end at around 2k and sizzle around 8k
