Help to replicate this effect?

On the song 'We Are Young' by FUN, the snare in the chorus has a certain sound to it (sorry I can't post links)

I was wondering if anyone could give me a tutorial or advice on how to replicate this? I'm new to production, so I'd appreciate any help I can get!

compressing a suitable snare sound will make it i guess..in fl studio's maximus there are sum presets for parallel compression and others..try them out.. x)

Do you think you could be a little more specific on how to exactly achieve the desired effect? I'm really amateur, but I can learn if it's clear.

yeaa...in fl get the most suitable snare sound for this and use maximum for it in the mixer track bro in the presets try the ones below the "inserts" like ny compression or punchy drums 5 and for that lil noise typo sound on the snare mayb reverse a clean sounding clap and make it sound with the snare..im just telling my idea bro..im not sure if thats the right way or anything :P
