MPC and Normal drum pad Difference REVIEW

Whats the difference between Aka MPC and a normal drum pad what are the main features of the MPC i usually chop all my samples and loops then throw them in a drum pad but wanted to know whether its worth buying a MPC

Im also new to this forum so not sure if its in the right category

mpc=standalone machine
mpd=controller

padkontrol is an example of an mpd mpc2500 is an example of an mpc
mpd18 is an example of an mpd mpc1000 is an example of an mpc etc.

mpd=controls software
mpc=it's own machine but can be used with comps as well.

MPCs are not necessarly standalone all the latest ones have just been controllers

you can pick up an mpc 1000 or 2000xl pretty cheap of ebay but these days. I wouldn't recommend it for being the easiest to integrate with a computer set up.

the pads on the 2000xl are iconic to me akai set the standard for the way a pad feels.

I could just advise for the Mpcstuff thick pad for Mpc... My life and my fingers changed since ;-) Very much more sensitive.
