Wait… you're looking for studio monitors as in speaker right?

If so, right now Guitar Center has the Tannoy Reveal 502 for 89 per side, so only $180 for the pair. Hard to beat. Next closest for price/sound is JBL LSR305 at $120 per side, but that would put you over $200 for the pair.

Stereo(no surround sound) computer gaming speakers with a sub in the $100-200 price range will sound better than all those by far. If you can, don't take my word, go to stores and try out both. Make sure to consider that the "monitors" will more than likely be in a treated room in a music store while somewhere like Best Buy would have gaming speakers out in the open, so make sure you consider those things while listening.

Anyone who's ever taken my advice and listened to both before buying always end up with a pair of gaming speakers over cheap monitors. Different story if you got more money to play with, but even RP5s and HS5s don't compare to gaming speakers in the $100-200 price range(they do once you invest another $400+ in their sub, oh, then they're better). with cheap monitors, you're paying for cabinets, connectors you won't use except one set of, the idea you're getting something pro level(when you're absolutely not), name brands, ect. With comp gaming speakers, you're paying for an awesome sound experience for games and music coming from a computer, not even close competition. Other option is go to a pawnshop, buy a $100 Amp and some $100 Speakers. I just advise you to listen before buying if you have that option.
