Is it too simplistic ?

Do listeners get bored of hearing the same melody throughout a song ? When I compose I start out with one or two basic melodies and I try to orchestrate it so it fills out at least 2 minutes.I admit that I do this mostly out of laziness.Should I make my melodies more complex and have more than two melody lines ?

Here for example I only have two 8 bar melodies that i use throughout the whole song:

G.E. - A Pirate's life - YouTube

Is it too repetitive ?

No but throw in counter melodies after repeating that sequence 2 or 4 times then a transition back into the original melodies or another countermelody. thats just how i roll

I think some more transitional instruments/sounds would be nice. Like a cymbal swell or some percussion leading from one part to the next. I think the parts sound great but the transitions need a little more work.
