Techno Percussion

Hey people,

I have a question. I am trying to do some Deep Techno and the main thing I need to figure out is, how to create some of the percussion sounds, used in Deep/Dub Tech. I don't mean 808s and 909s, but the sometimes knocking, sometimes raspy background percussion, which create a very distinct soundscape.



For example here the knocking sound that comes in around ~1 Minute (it gets faded in)



Or simply the background cracking noise in here.

How do I achieve such sounds, are there any VSTs or Sample Packs, that offer them?

so the first one is a nice example of simple synth using a little resonance, a low filter cut-off and an adsr that looks something like this for the vca:
A:1-D:8-S:6-R:1 and then program the rhythm as continuous 8ths/quavers

the 2nd one is probably some form of maraca or other gourd shaker (bean tree pods) that is manipulated through a filter

the other crackling sound is probably just some filter white noise that has been put through a bit crusher with a random volume modulation
