Reverb Bomb

Anyone have any tips for making these? I've had some success using my Virus B, tweaking hard kicks in to longer bass hits and then saturating them with 'verb and a little phase. Seems to work well enough but I can't get mine to sound huge enough, yes i have utilized compression, etc.

If u have fruityloops u can use the reverb preset called ambience. just tweak that, i dont think a phaser would help, imho it might make it sound cheesy. make sure you set the decay for like 6 seconds, give or take a few. maybe but the eq off around 30hz and leave most of the high end. then after your done u can eq it to maybe boost around 600 to 1300hz, play with it. Then compress. I hope that was a lil help, peace!

ps: try layering a sample of thunder over it, that just might be the little trick u need.

I've tried doing that kind of effect too. Just throw your reverb time all the way up, no damping, no filter, and as much as you can no the other parameters.
