Producers hiding behind 808 bass?

808's has always been used even in the boom bap golden era r wateva, my point is dat majority of de producers jus use 808 bass to make their novice productions sound hot.

@Desire inspire. what u said is exactly whats wrong wid hip hop music culture, people jus wanna jump behind som equipment widout any knowledge and do wateva sounding like trash. In no proffession do u jus com off de street n sit behind a desk n jus call ur self CEO. People need to study the art n represent art through themselves and pay dues. Just following lex lugers 808 drum pattern aint de way. People jus dont care.
Honestly i believ alot of producers shud jus go back to jus bein listeners and consumers.

@Kelevarone Thanx fo de example of de wackest shit i eva heard in my life. damn. souljah boy look like he's leading de wack race.

@Teksaur keep up de good work

@pM beats datz kinda sad but follow ur dream.

Novice producers follow passing trends in hopes of getting noticed. It happened with the soul sample explosion and its happening now with trap. Nothing new really.

Anyone can have an 808 in their song. Not everyone can have a clean sounding 808 in their song.

anyone can download a kit with perfectly crafted huge 808 kick drums, its not like people are making them from scratch

I completely agree, most producers today use 808's as a baseline. Which i think is really mediocre, there are basses for a reason, and the great producers implement both into their music. A great engineer can also make the bass 808, and main kick ( if any ) as distinct as possible so that each are audible to the listener. Good post.
