Hey everyone, I had a question about where sounds (i.e hi-hats, kicks, snares) go on an actual 4x4 MPC. Is it by random or what is the method to the madness?

in most mappings of notes you might have something like the following
note that most of the time we align similar sounds vertically rather than horizontally (something to do with being easier to move up than move across to play the same sound) the toms are the exception as each one is a different size and therefore a different sound - Tom 3 is the floor tom, the others are rack toms...
specific names are down to you
it is also possible for you to rearrange any of these to be where they make most sense for your playing style

Yea look up finger drumming on YouTube youll see different tricks so it's easier to play
