A new way to practice composition and express your creativity...

Hi, I'm Oliver a music producer who is new to the Future Producers forum!

I just wanted to create a post about a new concept in music platform that I've recently launched.

It's called SoundShoots, and the idea of it is it enables producers to express their creativity and practice composition without having to create full tracks. Each week the website suggests a different composition theme (e.g. our current theme is 'Space') and then we encourage producers to create a 90 second piece of music in response to the theme.

We've just started our third week of launch and we would love to see Future Producers become actively involved in the site!

Please check out the site via the link in the signiture and have a good look around, and we would love to see you contribute some content to the site.

I would love to get your reaction to this concept, so please feel free to post your thoughts!

is there a place on the website for contributors to showcase their other music or link back to their soundcloud and such?

SoundShoots is mainly a way to practice music production/composition, without having to go to the effort of making a full-length track. Also, by having a different theme each week, it encourages producers to consider themes/ideas that they otherwise may not encounter.

Each member of the community gets their own profile page, which hosts all of their SoundShoots tracks, up to 3 full tracks from Soundcloud, links to other websites, an artist biography and an avatar image.

The best way to explore is to sign up (it's 100% free to join and use) and to create a SoundShoot! The theme that we are currently accepting upload for is 'Space', a really interesting theme to make a 90 sec track for! Also, unlike other sites, for each theme we host all of the tracks on a public page (as opposed to just on your profile) so there's more chance to get exposure.

I'm glad that you like it! It sucks that I can't give you a link from here, but just press the link in my signature to take a good look around the website.

It would be great to see you joining and signing up, but yeah, just have a play with it and see what you think. Judging by the tracks of yours that I've listened to just now, I think you would make a strong contributor to the site.

This week's theme on SoundShoots is 'Space', which expires this Monday.

So, if any of you find yourself with any spare time over the weekend, it would be great to see you contributing by creating a 90 second track about 'Space'. So long as your track is 90 seconds or less in length there are no guidelines or quality constraints, it's all about expressing what 'Space' means to you!
